Max Gate, Dorchester
19th Century House (Dated 1885) Grade I Listing
Max Gate is a Grade I Listed building based in the outskirts of Dorchester, Dorset and is best known for being the former home of the novelist and poet Thomas Hardy.
The works required was to simply remove the delaminated lime mortar ceiling and replace any damaged laths with new oak riven and plastered with new lime mortars and plaster, completed with a breathable paint.
